Why do you need your philosophy to be in the form of a story?

because when some philosophies work in theory they get blown apart in practice.
where are those Stirner fags at?
I don't need it. The story is what needs a philosophy.
this shit needs to end
Because Dostoevsky understood that people can draw their own conclusions from art rather than needing some self-contained pseud listing of dogmatic trash. i.e. Nietzsche, Marx, Kierkegaard

I finished his short novel The Gambler today. Was pretty good, funny in places, with some interesting observations about gambling and addiction.
In this case, any philosophy and morals is used with fictional characters (who are recogniseable figures from life) for illustrative purposes, so we can be edified while being entertained. An academic paper on gambling addiction, and the dangers of gold digging whores, would not have the same power.
