Why is high society so hard to break into?
More specifically, how the fuck do I get involved in the local theater scene? I love the idea of theater but have no idea how to get my finger on the pulse, so to speak. There has to be a better way than googling "*city* theater" and looking at every online box office, right? I don't even care if it's new or classical, as long as I can get a student discount. I can't even find a facebook page for local performances or anything.

>High society
You mean bourgeois dilettante know-nothings. Mere actors.
There is no "high society" per se, at least not nowadays. At best there are "high people" or perhaps "higher people" - who are for all intents and purposes hermits in our current zeitgeist, and for good reason. Ironically, you're far more likely to find them on /lit/ than in most other places.
In accordance with the unities of time, place, and action, high society maintains its constitutional integrity by the principle of exclusion.
Lollin hard at the idea of theater troupes being high society though.
