What are some books that are more entry level?

The last book I read was The Scarlett Letter in High School 3 years ago. I was completely put off by reading from it and don't know where to begin.

Start off small kid. Gain some exp points with books like pic related before you move up to something as patrician as TSL

Look into them. All pretty easy and decent and belong to different genres

Many of the books in the "high school canon" are not very good. They're highly teachable (that is, much can be said about them), but more often than not, they're not actually enjoyable to read.
