I don't think Italian literature is going to be much help until you are advanced and have been learning Italian for some years. Therefore this question doesn't really belong here. Otherwise if you're a beginner I recommend getting some old Italian comic books or kids books to help your reading comprehension.

They are basically the same except for Icelandic. Everyone familiar with English can learn the Scandinavian languages without any problems whatsoever within a few months. The english syntax derives from the Nordic languages when the Vikings invaded the British Islands.
