Has literature ruined movies and TV for you?
TV ruined western civilization
No, it's enhanced the cinema for me, if anything. I hardly watch television anymore.

I stopped watching films several years ago and television when I was a child.
Kind of, yeah. They have a hard time making something more interesting than what can happen in my mind.
Plus most of them are so fucking normal (there are definitely some gems though).

No. I watched "Eraserhead" recently, and it reminded me of the joy I receive from reading Kafka.
Yes, I can't sit still while watching it. I need something to both hold in my hands and to actively engage me mentally. Which makes the occasional video games useful if I'm just looking to unwind.
yeah half the books that films are based on have spoilers for the film in them and NO warning
it makes tv better for me; before i watch tv, i read a few pages of a book, and then i turn the tv on, and im like yeah this is way better.

No I still struggle giving up the screens.

It's ruined video games, especially ones that try to be well-written (they usually aren't).

the guys who suddenly think themselves above light amusements and lowbrow fun altogether are usually middlebrow bores in denial. bunch of tedious cunts.

not really. it's helped me realize why a lot of movies and television shows are garbage, which has helped me improve as a screenwriter.
