the most loveable characters in literature.
post some of your favorites and why.
Mario Incandenza. maybe I saw a bit of my retarded self in him. maybe I just liked him because he was sweet and pure. but either way any chapter with him in it was a good one.
sir lancelot from the once and future king. a man so good and noble and stuck in his knightly ways it constantly got him fucked over and into ridiculous situations. quite funny.
Dixon. he was the stronger braver of the duo but also slightly looked down upon, often getting called up to do shit mason didn't want to do.

Holden Caufield
Lord Jim.
Blames himself too much for a fucked up situation. Redeems himself in his own eyes despite his relative innocence. All he covets is honour.
>>8640855
Sonia. Qt, religious, innocent.
Dmtri Razumikhin
>>8640855
I adore Mario Incandenza; he's the heart of that book
I also put Quixote in this category, and Alyosha (although not as much for some reason after rereading lately via McDuff's translation)
Kilgore Trout, reoccurring prolific genre fiction writer in Kurt Vonnegut's books. He has lots of title drops in the books and it feels like they were failed ideas that Vonnegut probably wanted to write but he was too busy being mopey and writing sad scifi.
All the stock characters from the Redwall series were well done. I always liked how Brian Jacques could give you the same character with the same title in many different books and they each felt like a different person and had their little foibles even though he had such little focus on them. Also, when those bit characters died I actually felt for them. He did a great job with the minor villain types as well which really expanded the stories breadth.

Kafka's K.
Ignatius of course

Fat chicks stir me, viscerally, in the worst way possible. And when they embrace it like this? It just kills me, it really does.
>>8640926
Kilgore Trout is apparently based on Theodore Sturgeon

>that girl

You gotta be kidding me bro

I'll see your Sonia and raise you a Razumikhin
>>8640907
Such a kindhearted character, sticks with the moody Raskolnikov through thick and thin, can be wonderfully funny. absolutely deserving of Donya's love. 10/10
>>8641035
Imagine her in a relaxed position, not contorted into that silly pose. Not to mention how telling her facial structure is. 0/10 would not let her stick things in my dick
>>8641030
>Theodore Sturgeon
I didn't know that, looking at his wiki page certainly sounds like it.
And so it goes.
>>8641055
I'm so ugly I would even your mom stick her things in my dick.
>>8641058
u wouldn't

R. Bettik.
unfailingly polite and patient. always ready to lend a hand, even after Radamanth Nemes cut one of them off.
>>8641024
don't watch any of her pornos, you'll just be thoroughly disappointed by how mediocre her acting is
Doesn't get much more lovable than pic related.
Greta Conroy (Gabriel's wife) from The Dead.
The transition at the end from Gabriel's reminiscing on their relationship and his desire toward her, to her sadness and distance from him was emotionally draining. Its an incredible range of emotions that Joyce brings out of you--its hard not to feel love for her.
Prince Myshkin is my #1, for sure.
Should I feel bad I just masturbated to her?

Get out.
Even saying this as bait is unacceptable.

>>8641024
Fat??? Sweet shit, son. Hate to see what you consider "average."
>>8640855
Pierre from War and Peace. Bumbling, completely pathetic. Saw a lot of myself in him: going through all of these phases of marriage, joining the Masons. Always completely lost. He redeems himself, finds strength, saves children from a burning building. Gets the girl in the end. What more can you ask for?
leopold bloom

reddit + it doesn't even make sense in the context

Holden is lovable, he's obviously misguided. But he's dealt with some real shit in his life and is trying to come to terms with it, in his own misbegotten way.
He would be annoying as fuck to hang out with, but I think he's a great character.
