Which is better?

Idiotic thread. Obviously The Jest.

Surely you bible

Both have similar merits in terms of style. On the whole, I'd say the bible is more all-encompassing, however it's insightfulness is less consistent. Maybe I'm biased by the cultural significance of the Bible, but I'm inclined towards it. Good question, though.;.
If you want to measure the distance between David Foster Wallace and a great writer, compare this line from Hamlet with this bit from Infinite Jest.
Hamlet:
>There’s a divinity that shapes our ends,
>Rough-hew them how we will—
Infinite Jest:
>[...] almost nothing important that ever happens to you happens because you engineer it. Destiny has no beeper; destiny always leans trenchcoated out of an alley with some sort of 'psst' that you usually can't even hear because you're in such a rush to or from something important you've tried to engineer.

that's not comparing their writing abilities, it's just comparing their styles/voices.

Underrated
Holy Jest
Infinite Bible

I'm disappointed in you Anon, I could characterize any author as poor by selecting a single weak quote.
Here's a strong DFW quote:
>How can I have all of this in my head, and to you it's just words
>The Pale King
More like Intricate Pest

Honestly one of the best and most simplistically clever replies I've ever seen on this website
