Can a healthy mind produce good literary fiction?
>>
yeah but it'd be boring as fuck
>>
Would a healthy mind even be drawn to fiction?
>>
Most works that are hailed as eternal classics were made by such, all your disturbed and "struggling" artists are somewhere in middling tier.
>>

is this the reddit containment thread?
>>
>>8632193
for example?
>>
>>8632211

I don't have any examples, it's just my opinion, and therefore objectively correct.
>>
>>8632211
Wasn't Joyce pretty normal? Yes there's his sexual preferences but I don't think it made him crazy.
>>
>>8632368
He was genuinely schizophrenic
>>
>>8632140

Healthy minds are not drawn to art in general. Writers write to be part of the collective consciousness. They can't do it through normal means and use art as a tool for expression.
>>
This meme of mental illness = better art is just garbage perpetuated by people who want their lack of talent and discipline to be taken seriously.

Then it's a very old meme that has more merit than your contrarian mindset is able to give.
>>
>>8632421

he thought a lot of people were schizophrenic like hegel
>>
>>8632423
Actually, no.
>>
>ITT: nobody quoting Tolstoy's first sentence of Anna Karenina
