if the only books you ever read are on a certain level
then you are going to believe that certain level is the best literature has to offer.
>>8629092
What makes the Jungle Book better than Harry Potter?
I don't think it's legit not better than Harry Potter, but I do think that it's good points Harry Potter shares—though in lesser intensities.
Haha yeah I know what you mean OP. I listen to what people like harold bloom say about harry potter, and even though I'm not really knowledgeable enough to compare harry potter to the major canonical works on their literary merit, I still go by what people like harold bloom say when forming my opinions. That's because it's easier to just say what smarter people than me think instead of forming opinions of my own!
>>8629092
Bloom?
>>8629601
This OP.
>>8629092
Don't forget LOTR/Chronicles of Narnia/etc.
>>8629579
If you have to ask this question, just go ahead and read Harry Potter.
>>8629604
That's Mr Bloom to you.

it is cuter, much better written literary and has some nice children's poetry
it also doesn't really have power fantasies about being chosen, admitted to a secret society and given powers hence why it is less popular while everybody and their mother write about magic academies nowadays
