What do you want from life, /lit/?
What are your literary ambitions?

Be happy and rich.
What.
>>
>>8627437
To secure the future of the white race
>>
I don't think I'm literary in the sense I don't like clever wordplay or stories about how some ugandan teaches white people the magic of her culture and how diversity enriches us all.

If it's enjoyable to read, if it's smart, if it gives an interesting perspective on life, that's good enough. Just don't get bogged down in labels for their sake alone.
I think I just want people to have fun with my work. If they learn something, that's great, but I think that if they wanted knowledge or life lessons they really should be going to somewhere that specializes on that.
>>
Read, eat, shit, fuck, and fart.
>>
For my writing to be described as "masturbatory"
>>
yes im really amphibious
>>
>>8627437
I feel like I could revive moderism in literature. I have a life very similar to Kafka
>>
I'd like to get a cushy job so i could have a lot of time to read and enough friends to swap writing with. Basically a middle-aged teenager. I think that's a bad sign.
>>
>>8627437
To know what happens when I die.

I've tried christianity and deism. They all rely on faith alone.

I want to KNOW not to think

Underage pussy.

I want to make brutal poetry.
I want to be BolaƱo's succesor.

Find a reason to keep living past 25. And if I can find that, live my life as free from authority as possible.

Finish the novel I'm writing before 25. Get published. Maybe be weird enough to get a cult audience.

To live a comfortable life in a place I enjoy with someone I love, raise children I like, read a lot of books, create some scholarship that's somewhat read.
>>
>>8627437
Live on a sailboat circling the eastern Med with my qt and my dog, from Italy to Lebanon and round again.

Always have enough, never too much.

Lit-wise, I would like to have 1,000 people read 1,000 pages I've written and love them.
>>
I want to have an alright house in a quiet area, a stable job, a good wife, a kid or two, and I'd like my poetry to be published and receive a moderate amount of recognition.
>>
I don't even fucking know. I just want to live in an all atheist world, where there isn't this stupid ghetto dog eat dog cruel harsh facts of life mentality. That would just be cool if everyone means well, everyone legitimately cared about one another. That would also be cool if the world was like, 100% sexually liberated, and you could expose yourself on public television and what not. The complicated messages mixed in with the taboos of our society are horrible. I wish that people could like, be abdl and wear diapers all the time if they wanted to, and have people basically be as non prejudice as your average house pet. Like that would be cool if everyone was just as loving as a house pet, like people could still be intelligent, but if you went to school and just sat in your chair and started peeing in your pants (which would be super hot btw), then no one would care and people would be loving enough to help you change your pants, and everyone might blush because of how cute that would be. Same thing with poop desu, because poop is actually a really patrician fetish. If someone really hot pooped their pants in the middle of class that would be a huge turn on, I would help them change too.

You see, this sort of futuristic utopian world will never be achieved, so literally all that I have is escapism. Watching so much porn, listening to so much music, reading so many books. What am I doing with my life? The fucking hell if I know. I dropped out of college, I have never socialized with anyone, no job seems appealing to me, the world seems impersonal and lonely and cold. Where am I going with my life? I have absolutely no clue, not a single god damn clue in the whole world. Everything around me seems corrupt, people seem cold and cruel, and living doesn't really appeal to me very much at all.

Find a job where I can read while I work.

Right now I work part time in a book shop so it's perfect until I'm done with university.

write books

I want to write about cute girls doing cute things.
>>
Master 7 languages; read everything noteworthy in these languages; become the greatest French poet since Rimbaud.
>>
>>8627437
For now finish college. Start working with my dad in his law firm. Live up to his expectations. Find a good woman to marry. Be devout and follow the ways of the Lord. Write legal philosophy. Planning on starting soon, after I pass the hardest exams. The idea is to present the social teaching of the Catholic church and compare it to the legal system of my country to explore its mythical influence on everything here.
>>
>>8627437
I want to live forever. I'm taking up writing for that purpose.

>What do you want from life, /lit/?
Fourteen words. I wouldn't mind having a nice job and a family.

Polemicist on the side.

>What do you want from life, /lit/?
A 4 foot long horsecock to replace my malfunctioning micropenis.

>What are your literary ambitions?
I don't have any other than to read everything worth reading.
>>
All I want is to understand Hegel and have a normally functioning penis.
>>
>>8628817
what secondary lit are you reading for Hegel?
>>
>>8628821
Right now I'm back to Plato because I just skimmed through him and then through everyone else up to Georg, big mistake. For Hegel himself I read a lot of stuff, mainly Hyppolite, Kalkavage and HS Harris 'Hegel's Ladder', which I highly recommend. For the Logic I read parts of Stanley Rosen - The Idea of Hegel's Science of Logic, but since that book is too technical for my modest intelligence level, I'm not sure if there is any better companion.
>>
>>8628817
>>8628801 here. What's wrong with you? I've got multiple fistulae and a severe urethral stricture that all the dilation in the world won't fix. A urethroplasty is out of the question for the time being.

To improve my French, Spanish, Portuguese to the point that I can write profoundly and fluently in those languages, and give speeches in those languages.

To learn Italian, Russian, maybe eventually Sanskrit or Japanese as well.

To build a successful business empire and eventually a powerful estate, securing my family's existence within the upper folds of society.

To sleep with a lot beautiful women and let my genes proliferate.

To accumulate cultural and social capital through art and politics. Slowly carve out a sphere of influence in the world and leave my signature in the history books.

And finally, to solve some conjecture or pioneer some field in mathematics, so I can say I've done my part in carving out some corner of the known universe.

Nothing as bad as you, man I'm sorry.
>>

Why is the surgery out of the question now for you? Money?
>>
>>8628852
More details like I can't commit to the recovery time right now because of my job. So, I'm stuck sticking myself with a catheter every few days to keep the urethra from closing. Better that than wearing it all the time.
>>
>>8628870
Don't you have some kind of remunerated recovery time from a surgery? I'm not sure how laws for this in your country but you should think about this.
>>
>>8628878
There is, but there's no point in using it. After my mother dies (which should be within this year), I'll be able to kill myself.
>>
>>8628910
Is it only because of this problem?
>>
>>8628948
No, my life has always been shitty. I have an abundance of medical problems that stem from being born extremely premature (3 months) and I honestly have lost my will to live. I'm simply sustaining the status quo until I can do something about it. A life of suffering isn't something I want to live.
>>
>>8627507
we can only truly know through experience :v)
>>
>>8628974
This is stupid. You have a job, so you're not completely incapacitated. Why die before you've read all the major works of literature? Why die before you've shat in the shoes of all the assholes you know? Why die before having experienced the metaphysical heights of Wittgenstein and heroin? Why die until you've been convinced of salvation only to be crushed by the silence of the empty sky? Why die at all?

I WASN'T SUPPOSED TO MAKE IT PAST 25

He made it and so can you
>>
>>8628974 (You)
>This is stupid. You have a job, so you're not completely incapacitated.
It is, admittedly.

>Why die before you've read all the major works of literature?
There will always be more major works that are made after my death, so what's the point? It's a vicious cycle.

>Why die before you've shat in the shoes of all the assholes you know?
If by this you mean taking revenge on the people who deserved it, I already have.

>Why die before having experienced the metaphysical heights of Wittgenstein and heroin?
Heroin is great, but I prefer a nice LSD/ketamine combo.

>Why die until you've been convinced of salvation only to be crushed by the silence of the empty sky?
I've been convinced of medical salvation only to wake up worse than I went to sleep.

>Why die at all?
Why live at all?

Breaking apart every single ethical axiom ever built by man and thus proving that ethics, a concept deeply ingrained into the human psyche, is necessarily illogical and thus, for all practical purposes, pointless to bring out of the unconscious sphere, consequently proving the field useless.
I'll probably never finish this or post it anywhere, but meh, wish me luck.
>>
>>8629728
Hegel already did that.
>>
>>8629731
Oh shit.

...Well, there are still people discussing ethics, I can still push the point further.
>>
>>8629735
the whole chapter on moral consciousness and the subsequent result out of it (conscience), is pretty much the development and demonstration of the contradictions and dissemblances of moral systems based on a priori ethical rules and a moral lawgiver. Maybe you can simplify his language, like Zizek does sometimes.

>>
>>8627437
To create quality art

Immortality would be nice too
>>
>>8629744
I mean, it's obviously a bit more complicated than that, as it's always with Hegel, the moral axioms aren't completely destroyed, but only placed as a moment in a bigger system that also includes free individuality.
