Eco was more an ante litteram crtitique of pop culture, more multifaceted than Adorno. ALso, he wrote the Nome della Rosa book featuring Sean Connery so he is more famous in the US while Fo never wrote something this famous for the American public.
He is more famous in Europe though, that's why they gave him the Nobel.
I actually saw him live (i'm italian) when I was very young and I laughed for his grammelot.

He also started as a painter so he had this artistic vibe in his work.
