Screw you guys, I think that would be a fine anime or something. And he is conservative, but not crazy or anything, just thinking that the young folk are out of their minds, so when he's plunged into this really liberal culture there are revelations for both sides. He slowly realizes that they are people with opinions and vice versa, there's wisdom both in youth and middle age, stuff like that. I think it can be enjoyable.

>when you fall so deep into your own delusions that you think everyone shares the same convoluted values as you

It's not like he becomes a libtard or anything. It's the demolishing of strawmen - he understands who will inherit the earth, even though he doesn't necessary agree with them on a lot of things, and they understand on whose shoulders they stand. Anyway, it's not a focus, political stuff and intergenerational gap is background, the main story is about the girl and that man. It's totally platonic, he is married, and maybe the girl even helps his wife out of crippling depression - she never went to uni and feels lost and forgotten, the only link to outside world is her husband, and the whole situation is a breath of fresh air.

It's not gonna sell. You have to sacrifice your ego and modify your characters to appeal to your audience.
>45yo man -> 22yo shy korean girl
>book club girl -> 23yo tsundre animu boy
>depressed wife -> best friend of girl that NTRs her with animu boy
