I do not read many books as they come out as I prefer to hear the opinion of the literary community on a particular book and then make my own judgment so it my be a couple years before I read anything from 2016.

With that being said Gillian Flynn's short story The Grownup was quite good, although that may have come out last year.

How is The Nix? The fact people are calling it semi-Pynchon has me curious but I hope I'm not memed into getting it. Doesn't Krasznahorkai have a collection of short stories coming out too soon?

I'm also looking forward to Zadie Smith's new book next month.

I can't read much of the new things coming out. I had a bad experience with my last two books in 2015 where it was stupid obvious that the author was writing with the thought of trying to appeal to as many audiences as possible.

Does the possibility of hitting it big with a movie deal dilute some of the authors' ability to write or is it just me that gets this weird sense?
