Shadilay, friends. What ideologies would you consider yourself?

To begin, I'm a Buddhist, a Nietzschean, and a Humanist.

So, Syncretism would be a good definition.
>>
>>8582327

Nietzscheanism and Buddhism are not ideologies.

>>8582335

People have a need to identify with something bigger than themselves, and to 'brand' themselves with this 'something.' Psychologically speaking it's identical to the reason people become brand-loyal, or fans of musical acts in a way that goes beyond merely enjoying the music (i.e. wearing the band's shirts and such). It provides people with a shortcut to developing an identity. It further provides social benefits; identifying yourself as belonging to a group improves your standing with other members of that group, which may lead to opportunities for professional and social advancement.

If anyone is wondering, this is in fact a meme post; however, it was inspired by a true story.

Yesterday, in my Philosophy class, my professor claimed Buddhism was both atheistic and humanistic. A student in the same class prior said he was both a Nietzschean and a Buddhist. My autism was triggered and I felt a good meme post would help me vent it.
>>
>>8583273
>So it's like a Middle Ages economy
Not at all.
The core concepts are a focus on smaller firms, cooperatives, and employee-owned firms over large conglomerates; reduction or elimination of mutuum loans that charge interest; the replacement of contemporary unions with a union system that includes managers and owners; and a focus on more local management and regulation of business.
>No government or corporations
When would that be, the Neolithic?
If you want to see what contemporary Distributism looks like, try here
http://www.mondragon-corporation.com/eng/
It is a large corporation run by Distributist concepts and it is competing quite well.

Big N would loathe /pol/ on numerous grounds like:
• the idea of nationality and nationalism and even culture mattering; Nietzsche renounced his citizenship and never took anoher citizenship, remaining a non-citizen the rest of his life.
• "all antisemites should be shot"
• all of their moralizing

I also feel hemd have a problem with the way they place all the blame for problems in life on others and romanticize psychopaths and hate crimes

Oh also in the Gay Science he makes it pretty clear that those who try to use and gain power in negative ways that harm others actually display a lack of power and that they're always inferior to those who use and gain power in "good" ways

This. I know people like this. They have postures PRETTY similar to a lot of labels but won't recognize it because they want to feel specials or some shit like that. It makes communication worse at time because they're saying something a posture has been saying for long ago thinking they're saying something else.

I'm a Democrat, a Liberal, and a believer in the power of the free market plus intelligent interventions by the State. I believe in Social Liberalism and economic Conservatism. I'm also a believer in self-reliance and independence, but people who need assistance should get it. It is shameful to leave a countryman behind. And lastly I'm against divisive bullshit like racism and sexism.

Of course everyone on this degenerate website is in their youthful contrarian phases and still sees themselves as essentially separate from the system.

Why? both of them put self-improvement into the centre of their ideologies.
Neither of them care about silly gods.

I would say they are quite paralel philosophies. The only contradiction is maybe the principle of compassion in Buddhism vs the refusal of slave morality by nietzscheian philosophy. But that one is only seemingly contradictory.

I'm a Gamer, but I am also a Feminist. Yeah, we exist, get over it! I believe in the progress of Science and human Reason, and because of this I am a Humanist. I'm a Libertarian as well, because an Authoritarian Government restricts human Reason and has put us back into the Dark Ages. Most of all, I am an Atheist, because I cannot understand how somebody could ever go so far as commit genocide of something they cannot know for certain. I am certain there is no God (science has proven it!) and I will kill if necessary to defend these objective ideals of Humanism, Reason, and true Democracy.

Because this is an ideological thread and the person responded with their ideology...

The greater question is why do many herbivores feel so threatened by another person's eating habits? I rarely mention I'm vegan and when I do the other party often feels a need to prove that my choices are inherently "wrong." Not like I attacked them in the least, it's just a really strange psychological reaction people have that seems to play on really old archetypes of hunter-gatherer relationships.
