Not that I wouldn't like the money and attention of course, but I find when I think about others reading my work it makes my writing worse. It makes it shy and vague. Is this a common thing?
Well, if I do get published I'm using a pen name.

where are those quotes from?

Sorry anon, not sure. Got this from /pol/, can't find anything online about it either. Maybe someone just made it up?

It's from the song "Dream House" by the band Deafheaven off of their album Sunbather. Worth checking out anon one of my favorites.
I'd only like to write a few stories to a friends with elements I think could be stimulating or help them in at least a shitty way.

Think you ever will?

If I ever have kids, maybe I will leave it to them in my will after I have passed away. They can read them if they would like, or they can do whatever they please with them. I mostly write things for myself so I doubt very much they, if anyone at all, would read them.
I write poetry which I share with a few people, I'd really like to send something to a poetry journal. I really dream about The New Yorker though. I've self published two books (as in: produced two hardcover volumes that are not for sale) for my girlfriend though.

I destroy everything I write after I finish with it ever since someone read it against my will.

I did that when I was a wee lad after I found out my mum was reading my things behind my back and just pretending she wasn't. Feels bad man. Was writing some pretty cringe-worthy sexual content during puberty too, glad I'm over that period lol

Have you ever tried submitting to the New Yorker? You never know, maybe they'll like your stuff! But in any case, you should really try getting into a zine or something, what a confidence booster that would be.
