What is lit's favourite book series cover design?
the old penguin classics from like 1997
Old Wordsworth blue series
Simple and good looking, not like the newer black ones with horseshit images on them

>the brand new War & Peace adapted from the Oscar winning movie
>>8535185
I really dislike the Heart of Darkness cover.
Also The Mill on the Floss's cover is better than the actual book.

Tusquets Andanzas and Oxford World's Classics.

NYRB Classics
Penguin Poets

Yep.

where do i find these?
>>8536161
I search old booksellers online for them, they were printed decades ago
I love the old Signet Classics
>>8535185
Besides occasionally having questionable images, I think the modern Penguin design is pretty solid
library of america is okay i guess
Reclam
Oxford World Classic's look nice in terms of cover design and quality

I have three Reclams for my german lit class. That shade of yellow is nauseating

also a fan

I'm on the fence about Dalkey's covers for their Norwegian literature series. On one hand I enjoy the minimalism, but on the other they're a bit on the edgy side. Thoughts, lads?
>>8536298
yup, they are far better than most of uk/usa paperbacks, reprints. (not mass)
>the cover has real life photo's instead of art
>>8533849
Something consistent where the white pieces in the middle are the same width and the same shade of green is used, for example.

There's something appealing about old paperbacks. I think they could get away with more stylish designs because they were cheap and disposable. Hardcovers from the same period are a lot more prosaic.
