South Asia
Southeast Asia
West Asia
me reading this thread: lol
Notice how philosophy from Asia is never just philosophy but always "Eastern Philosophy." This is a disclaimer to warn readers that it is not actually philosophy, similar to the way Chinese Medicine is not actually medicine.

What do you expect you fucking retard
In Asian countries, Asian schools of thought are referred to conventionally and simplistically while the mess of 'Western' philosophy is referred to as specifically Western

China was an agrarian, third world country no less than 25 years ago; they have a consequentialist morality and no space nor need for metacognition. Korea is a meme. Japan has a large middle class but is festering in menial labour so much there is no demand for philosophy. Note that throughout history demand for philosophy was always spearheaded by the educated aristocracy while nowadays everything's demand strongly relies on the Middle Class - most of East Asia's is too preoccupied with slaving away in offices. A 'philosophical' society requires a well-established aristocratic class or middle class

>China was an agrarian, third world country no less than 25 years ago
Then why did they have fucking 100 schools of thought in the early days of the empire if it was because they were farming?
Not to mention Neo-Confucianism and Neo-Taoism still going at it for centuries up until the actual fall of the empire.
China's just way more authoritarian than even during the imperial days, say it as it is, word salad fucker.
>Korea is a meme.
What does that even mean?
>Japan has a large middle class but is festering in menial labour
Shit explanation.
Anglo's get hard-ons when they talk about their strong work ethic, but at least they still have a philosopher every now and then.
