HAHA
SOMEONE'S TAKING SYMBOLIC/MODAL LOGIC FOR THE FIRST TIME
What college you at boi?
>>8531243
i meant symbolic/formal
What is it that you don't get? Be specific.
Moreover, why are you bothering with Aristotelian Logic and not go straight into First-Order Quantificational Logic?
>>8531254
Hoped to get some good youtube links/ texts... Mostly I get most of the thing, but its application seems nebulous af
>>8531311
But why not just do FOL? Why do Aristotelian logic? It's not as formal, weaker, less efficient, etc.

school...philosophy classes

Aristotelian logic. No longer taught seriously, as t has been replaced for formal logic (propositional, first-order, etc).
Fun fact: Frege formalization of logic is actually based on stoic logic rather than aristotelian.

Im learning the same thing, what do you need explained? Where u going to school bud

hey man, I'm going to a Montreal college.
The meaning and application of subaltern bugs me...
Let's take this example:
A: All men are cucks
E: All men are not cucks
I: Some men are cucks
O: Some men are not cucks
So, in "Some men are not cucks" do we imply that we DO NOT know if all men are not cucks also, but it can be?
>>8531699
Also, when we talk about universal and particular... If I understand correctly, these attributes can be applied on the subject and the predicate right? Then, what are it's purpose on the predicate?

I have literally never studies Aristotelian logic, only FOL, but this is how it seems to me.
The subalterns are the weaker statements. For example, if we know All S are P, then it MUST be the case that some S are P.
The universal and particular attributes are applied to a subject combined with a predicate. It makes no sense to say just "All S" or "S are all P". Generally it is used like this: All (S are P) and Some (S are P), with an upside down A and mirrored E respectively, in FOL.

GTFO of here with your obfuscation and charlatanism.

thanks!
I'll eventually get to FOL in a few weeks
