because hardcover is nicer than softcover. It's much more satisfying to have on your shelf, and to hold. It feels like how a book should feel, not shitty paperback which seems to fall apart and get dented and scuffed up whenever you touch it.

no, I probably won't. it took me 2 weeks to read 250 pages of mobi dick and then I put it down to start reading something else for now, and I'm perfectly fine with that. When I read a book, I read it really thoroughly, I don't like to rush. In fact, I feel that I lose a lot from the book when I try to rush through it, I try to take as much time as possible that I need, so I teeter between a balance of reading enough so I thoroughly understand it, right to the point where I feel like trying to absorb any more would be pointless.
