People make fun of it, but the ending of The Grapes of Wrath gets to me every time.

Most Modernist literature makes me feel. It's that desperate grasp for meaning in a world of subjective experience. When it comes to actually crying, Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury and Alasdair Gray's Lanark are the two works that always come to mind. There's something about suicide by drowning.
