Probably Andrei Tarkovsky. But seriously, there is no one person, maybe a combination of Dostoevsky and someone

Always imagined Alyosha looking like Andrei from Andrei Rublev. Perhaps it was the illustration on the cover.
>>8483391
He is "reincarnation" of Dostoevsky.

I imagined Alyosha as being a lot more boyish than that

Andrei Platonov is pretty similar
Kind of like a bizarre, twisted socialist realism. His works are a little more political than Tarkovsky's films though. I would definately recommend "Soul".
>>8483391
Honest question, was there a greater filmmaker?
Vodolazkin
>>8485823
nah mate he hit the peak. everything has gone downhill since then
George Bernanos
Arseny Tarkovsky
