I wrote a novella in a future English typography where letters corresponded precisely to phonemes (e.g., "c" was eliminated for "k" and "s"), but it got so tedious and unreadable that I was essentially reproducing IPA, so I junked the whole typographical angle and instead made a character refer to old (i.e., modern) English as though it were different from "Standard" but still intelligible in unspecified ways, all of this of course written in English.
