That´s up to society.

before Bacon = tradition, hierarchy, civility
after Bacon = degeneracy, interracial relationships, leftism
I think it's clear

He set the stage for the split between science and philosophy. He also gave empiricists and logical positivists the intellectual groundwork they needed to begin their centuries long, and ultimately failed, crusade to destroy metaphysics as a legitimate topic of study. He did some serious harm to the practice of philosophy, but I'm happy to say it's rebounded since so I'll settle for pissing on his grave

I wish you were right lad, I really do, but I fear you're wrong. Metaphysics is practically dead, and the world is worse off for it.
Reminder that Bacon lifted his epistemology straight from Paolo Sarpi, and all that came to follow (Hobbes, Locke, Hume) were but several permutations of the latter.

Hardly. Analytic metaphysics is thriving, philosophers of physics engage almost exclusively with metaphysical questions pertaining to their own work, metaphysical realism has returned to continental philosophy in the form of the speculative realist movement. I honestly see more STEM people acknowledging the continued existence of metaphysics compared to people who purportedly enjoy the humanities. Perhaps there's some odd inferiority/self-flagellation complex going on there
I read that as 'did Bacon do more ham or good'
