The reason Sagan was so popular (and not just with autists) was because he could communicate the wonder he felt at the natural world and our universe so well, in a plebeian tone. I do not say this in a derogatory way. He was a brilliant speaker and writer who sought to engage the general public in science education and funding.

One does not become a fedora by the beliefs they hold; one becomes a fedora by expressing those beliefs with unearned self importance and a total lack of self awareness or irony. Remain humble, remain self aware and taciturn, and no fedora can rest upon you.

It is the mark of a true fedora to not admit there is a fedora in all of us.
