It beats you over the head with the themes in an exposition at the end of the book, and holds your head to the world building with a chronology.

If some novels are entry level to literature, this and animal farm are the front door step.

I'm having a hard time getting through it right now. It hasn't really hooked me with anything really interesting, there hasn't been a moment where I felt captivated by anything in it that made me want to keep reading to uncover more. I just finished chapter 2.

Is 1984 any good? The supposed mix we live in now can be too distracting..
