Because I mistakenly saw a video of the same name involving gay scat.

I'm not reading it after the huge letdown that was Cat's Cradle.

Read Sirens of Titan or Timequake to have your faith restored.

The first ten pages of Sirens of Titan are such horseshit that I never continue.
Yes this makes me a pleb I guess.

It's the point in his writing career when he stopped caring
Or alternately the point when he ran out of ideas
Or the point when he decided to coast on reputation

Don't hate it, but it's definitely weaker than some of his other novels, like Sirens of Titan and Cat's Cradle. For what little it's worth, he thought so himself as well.
Of course, if you just like him for his snark and think he's a pointless hack of a writer otherwise, then yes, you'll probably enjoy this more than his other work.
there's literally a paragraph about a pornstar getting blacked
he's a cuck

>if you just like him for his snark
This gets at a lot of it; BoC lacks an underlying empathy and humanity on display in his earlier work and just comes across as kind of mean.

I feel like this comment could get some shit so know that I agree with you
>>8443191
But that's why it's funny
>>8443218
The lack of humanity doesn't make it humorous; there's humor in his earlier work too, it just has a kinder heart underlying any surface nastiness. The earlier stuff is more emotionally complex and layered compared to BoC.

>why do you guys hate it?
Because LEL SO QUIRKY XD
>>8443061
i let my ex borrow this book
i'll never see it again

It comes across as a little hostile toward the reader even, certainly toward the characters, moreso than Slaughterhouse, Sirens of Titan, and so on
