Pushkin's prose translated by the preeminent translators of Russian literature into English, the unrivaled husband-wife tag team, the world's greatest, Pevear and Volokhonsky.
Finally, finally, we will be able to read the Russian Shakespeare as if we were reading him in the original Russian.
Are you ready?
Why the hideous cover though ?

I've heard some pretty negative reviews of this teams translations, specifically of their translations of Bulgakov and Gogol.
This may all be hand wringing and 'tism from native Russian speakers, but then it's hard to find a review of a specific translation that isn't just a promotional circle-jerk.

P&V are overrated and sometimes quite bad. Best to stick even with a translation by a contemporary.
The idea that 'new' translations are always a step above and a step with more knowledge is fictitious and petty.
Too bad I've already read him in the original language and can't partake in yourpedestrianpleasures.
