Currently reading The Glass Bead Game. Shit is miles better than that Siddhartha pap.

hmm, I don't know.
There's little soul in it. It's basically freemason society butt-licking and a kind of conceited effort for it to be his 'magnum opus'
I would re-read Demian or steppenwolf over glass bead any day.
I like Kinderseele. Not sure how it's been translated into English. Once you've read it you have read pretty much every novel he ever wrote though. He's a bit samey and his unornamented style leaves something to be desired.
Mann and him were very good friends, and I think Mann was the better of the two. If you like Bildungsroman you should read The Magic Mountain.

I was disappointed by Beneath the Wheel.
Little twerp just couldn't hold his liquor. It wasn't crushing him, he was just a weak liver twink.

>Tfw loved Siddhartha despite the bullshit philosophical axioms that come from nowhere
>But only quite enjoyed Steppenwolf
I've got Glass Bead Game on my desk. Third time lucky?
