What is your favorite novel?
Mine is Gulliver's Travels. It's funny, philosophical, and ridiculously creative.
I like my Diary, you should read it sometime

You know, I don’t want to be offensive. But ‘Anon's Diary’ is just awful. It seems ridiculous to have to say it. He can’t think, he can’t write. There’s no discernible talent.”

Can you please tell me specifically what you got from Gulliver's travels? I am thinking about rereading it soon

well the whole book is pretty feverish and that appeals to me
I think about the satire of academia every so often
(actual spoiler)plus how the virtues of the horses leave Gulliver crotchety and cynical, really cracks me up as a fallen idealist
Mine's Gulliver's Travels too. Intelligent, nihilistic and with a wicked sense of humor.
This book is one of my all time favourites, the vivid descriptions are so dark, and nihilistic. But that's the appealing part of the book! It's so tragic and gloomy that it's beautiful. The author Cormac McCarthy tends to use a Hemmingway style of writing. 10/10 - IGN

Life: A User's Manual
Appeals to me in so many ways by being hilarious, emotionally poignant, and surprising by equal turns
