Whats wrong with this sentence:
"Your brain holds as much knowledge as a bucket without a bottom holds water."
>>8428180
>Your brain holds knowledge much in the same way as a bucket without a bottom (more specific term here?) holds water
This is better and more specific
"Your brain holds knowledge like a sieve." is a better sentence.
>>8428204
Technically your sentence is still incorrect. You don't need the "as" right after "way."
>>8428180
what's wrong with it is that a bucket without a bottom wouldn't hold any water at all.
>>8428235
Just because it's not needed doesn't make the sentence "technically incorrect"
>>8428244
No, it really does. The "as" starts a separate phrase which leaves "holds" without a noun.
>>8428271
No, it doesn't
I'm going to assume English isn't your first language and you have no idea what you're talking about
>>8428180
the "much" is unnecessary.
i dont know the proper grammar terms but the second "holds" just sounds off.
how i would write it-
>your brain holds knowledge as a bucket without a bottom would hold water.
>>8428241
>No one knows what the hell a sieve is
If you're going to account for the reader's laziness you might as well not write a sentence in the first place.
>>8428180
As an amateur Latin learner I see no problem with this sentence.

Am I the only one who gets triggered by that picture?
The rightmost ball is too high, it wouldn't align properly with the others.
