I started this recently, is it really as good as many people say? Should I continue after the first book?
There's a prequel to the first book called New Spring. I'm halfway trough it right now. It's good. But i don't know if i should've started from the first one, or this one.
Sorry, forgot the pic.
Here's the cover.

I was gonna ask
It goes on a downward trajectory in quality, at first slowly and then hitting rock bottom around book 10 where the plot totally grinds to a halt. Things actually happen in the last 3 books but they're written by Sanderson which might be good or bad depending on what you think of him.

I liked it when I was thirteen. The first book is a straight rip of LoTR and after the third book it's a slog through braid pulling and descriptions of embroidered dresses.
Overall it's pretty bad. Even I began to think so in middle school.

What kind of fucking questions are those
>should I read past the first book
Can you not form your own opinion? Continue reading unless you get bored with it or become offended by some aspect of the work, such that you want to stop. Consider whether there might be anything worthwhile in the text to outweigh your desire to stop. If yes, stop being a pussy and continue reading. If no: stop. Obviously.

You shouldn't have read it first. It spoils a lot.

Are these children's books?

Fellowship, I hope? I'd love to read something like that again.

Not really but alot of teens and fantasy nerds read them
I gave up on it on the Winter book (think that's 8?) in middle school and apparently the one after that is even worse.
I've seen fans say it picks back up but those are devoted fantasy fans, not exactly bastions of good taste.
Just go read LOTR or something for your fantasy fix.

What's this about? Is it a historical novel or fantasy? Can someone give me a shallow description of the plot for no spoils?

Yes, but not in a good way.
