That said, I do think discussion helps hone your knowledge, at least if you're not brainlessly shitposting. You need to present and support an argument, which develops your opinion. If you're not a shithead, sometimes you'll even realize you're wrong if someone else presents a more compelling argument.

I never figured out how to meet people so any friends I ever had were just the first useless mongoloids I ran into and I'm worried if I try to meet people again it'll be the same way. I have a lifetime full of relationships with people stupider and less interesting than me just because I thought it was better to have bad friends then no friends. Even more so, it was because I didn't want to upset the bad friends.

The problem is with me, obviously. I meet people and put up a friendly facade when in reality I'm so cynical that everything they seem to believe in sounds like nonsense, and I worry that if I called them out on their nonsense I'd be unpleasant, so instead I just pretend that I like them. I just want to meet somebody who is cynical about the bullshit they believe. I just wish that I could openly be as cynical as I am to everybody.

Anyway at least here you can pretend everybody is joking or a real idiot when they say certain things, whereas in real life you have to imagine they have a level of authenticity.

Beyond surface level chit chat I'm not good with people. Here, I can say and be whatever I want whenever I want. It's pretty addicting. It just makes going back to face to face interactions that much more terrifying though
