First two are good - the last two are shit.
None are great. To judge the quality of the series realize that Hannibal Lecter has twelve fingers and red eyes in the book. His relationship with Clarice isn't that weird master/apprentice thing either, he wants her to be his sister and he also wants to bang her

Yep. Though I didn't find Hannibal to be too bad, but that was seven-ish years ago. You can start with Silence of the Lambs, by the way.

Nearly everything in this post is wrong.
The master/apprentice relationship is way stronger in the books than in the movies.
Harris was pressured by the publishers to write the 4th book_ his lack of wanting to actually do it shows as the timelines he set up in the previous novels doesn't correspond with what is written in the last.
Suggestion: just read it as a trilogy and calf-blade the origin bullshit.
