ITT: Books you had to read in high school

Never read TFA in high school, but I had to teach it last year. Definitely wanted to kill myself...ayyye.

Fucking The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri - utter shit I tell you. Made me really hate Bildungsroman until I've encountered A Brief Wondrous life of Oscar Wao which was great with all of its reference and the vernacular language. If you've read it, what did you think?

mine had no required reading. what the fuck upper middle class preppy background would you cucks claim anyway? we read maybe four or five things in class throughout the course of secondary school: romeo and juliet, macbeth, the odyssey, shane, and the salem witch trials.
