Anyone else think their values and opinions are stupid memes? fairness was something i believed in, i would get extremely angry if i thought a certain situation wasn't fair, then i realized fairness in an inherently unfair world is unfair, most of my beliefs and values are memes that could easily be shattered.

I think people like you should be physically restrained and barred from any sort of internet use.

>I think people like you should be physically restrained and barred from any sort of internet use.
why?
Look up the definition of meme.
Then realize you're an idiot.

"an element of a culture or system of behavior that may be considered to be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, especially imitation."
Fairness is a meme

Bingo senpai. Literally everything is a meme.

Why would you have beliefs?
>>8406492
of course they are memes
you just believe in them because our current society thinks that those values are the most important and with them we are going to achieve happiness or whatever we want to achieve
things like peace or freedom maybe weren't necessary 2000 years ago but now if you say anything against them you're going to generate a massive butthurt
even the "redpilled" /pol/ has moral values from other time
so yeah I think like you what do we do know

Elaborate butthurt-kun

>Things I was socialized to accept as true turned out not to be so true after all
It's called growing up. Jesus Christ.

i'm sure you have beliefs too anon.

yes. values are often post-hoc justification for a predetermined conclusion. Here's a chart that illustrates this

the idea of opinions is itself a meme. how many people read something and then instantly try to form an opinion on it? i blame school discussions that are graded on participation
I think most people realize this but they have varying degrees to which they subscribe to social constructionism. At the end of the day it's impossible to avoid having foundational metaphysical beliefs. Many humanities fields argue over the foundations of knowledge. I tend to go the Aristotelian route and go with Ontology, followed by Logic, the western tradition has shown these to work quite well.
