Dude, I subvocalize like a Tibetian monk.
Is this a sign of autism?

I find that if I stop sub-vocalizing I sometimes miss key things about a text because I am reading too fast and my brain can't suck up all the info.
How do you not subvocalize while at the same time sucking up and understanding everything?
>>8390286
Same. I've not tried or practiced much but I don't think my speed of understanding is anywhere the same as the speed of my eye or at least this is the case for most of what I've read recently.
Subvocalizing is normal you plebs
Just put on some tim hecker
What the fuck is wrong with subvocalizing? How are you supposed to appreciate the cadence or flow of prose, the nuances of the author's language like that of Nabokov or Shakespeare?
Are you telling me authors don't "subvocalize" when they draft and edit their novels? How is it not better to subvocalize and carry the same words in your mind as the author did?
>>8390286
