Im of the firm belief nobody owes no one nothing outside of the exchange of currency for goods and or services. Your parents arent obligated to take care of you anymore then you not dying on their watch. Ill admit doing so separates bad parents from good and good from great. The same goes with children but in this case im a little biased because i had such good parents. I feel if they took care of you you should repay the favor by at least not being a complete piece of shit.
