Darren Shan's Cirque du Freak was pretty good when I read it as a teenager, but I have no idea how I would like them now.
Thought it was a pretty clever thing to name the MC after yourself at that time

I thought his Cirque Du Freak series was incredible when I was a young teenager - I picked up a three-in-one volume of the first three novels in and was completely immersed; I would regularly check my local library until I had read the rest of them.
I quite enjoyed Demonata, too, but never finished it.
