Who translated that one? If you want it in English, go for Wilkins/Kaiser. It's the classic. In keeping with the standards of its time, it may lose some points in word-for-word accuracy, but it is a more "literary" (ie., lyrical, poetic, flowing, well-crafted, etc.) and pleasurable read.

This translation is almost impossible to find and the most recent translation is supposed "Just fuck my book up" levels of bad. I don't think English only readers are ever really going to be able to experience this book as it was intended.

Me too. The prose was good, if unspectacular. Still managed to make my top 10. With spectacular prose, which the austro-German original may indeed have, it would be top 3.
