Hello! I am from Spain. I would like to practice my English. What English books are good?

cute

Finnegans Wake. Especially if you are Galician master race.
>>
>>8372354
none of them. they are all terrible. nothing worthwhile has ever been written in our allpervading language. you should give up now.

you're not going to learn proper english here.

Consiguete un buen libro de gramática, libros de poesía en bilingüe, etc. Si tienes un kindle puedes incorporar vocabulario con el diccionario. Dependiendo de cual sea tu nivel, puedes probar re-leyendo en inglés libros que leíste en castellano.

I was wanting to read Harry Potter. Is it good?

Try Hemmingway.
His prose is simple and themes are relevant.

Also consider Steven King.
The Shining, The Stand, and Gunslinger are simple and entertaining enough to keep you engaged.

no it's trash, but it's probably a good entry level english book for esl learners.
>>
im spanish todo. I learnt english basically by reading. You should start reading modern essays on topics like economics or politics. Also look for issues of The Economist in your local library, its useful because they use an upper average vocabulary

>Hey /lit/! What are some good books I can read to learn modern english?

>/Lit/: english books suck go read books 200-400 years ago if you wanna learn english the proper way

You faggots are going to make him use words that haven't been used in casual conversation since Andrew Jackson paid a village to eat 2000lbs of cheese because his wife bitched about the smell.

Charles Dickens in general, James Joyce's short stories for sounding well, and Thomas Pynchon for net-speak. Also instead of learning modern English grammar, start from the ground up with Anglo-Saxon for a more encompassing understanding.
