is this meme literature?

your thread's a meme.
Yes.
I enjoyed it. The narrator is one of the most unreliable I've ever read, but that's the point.
>>8371192i like how basically the whole work is about a crazy old man's imaginary account of an event that didn't happen
makes it extra spooky

I enjoyed it. that's all that matters.
It's an interesting read. I enjoyed it.

All literature is meme literature

I liked it, my friends who are lit majors and read it for classes all liked it. The biggest criticism I heard was someone saying the format seemed a bit gimmicky but that's it.
Are there any books that are similar? I'm trying to get into some more horror

That russian Minotaur one. Cant remember the name right now
It's gimmicky as hell and not really strictly /lit/ but, really, what is, and it's a fun read (which is certainly a better way to spend your time than Netflix or any movie that's come out in the past few years, save maybe a few), so if you're asking because youre afraid it's meme status will make it a waste of time, my answer is no.
Asshole.

Considering the sheer amount of work danielewski put in this, i think it would be an insult to not consider it literature.
Even better would be to consider it a metanarrative satire of literary criticism since Zampano is clearly meant to represent a pretentious hipster amateur film/literature critic, often giving obsolete references and digressing to german and claiming an indie film is art simply because it was created by a pulitzer prize winner and all

>and not really strictly /lit/
Wut? There are threads about HoL all the time here. And its a freaking book, how is that not /lit/ related? Or are you only supposed to talk about American High School Curriculum novels?
