>Nicholson was born on April 22, 1937, in Neptune City, New Jersey,[3][4][5] the son of a showgirl, June Frances Nicholson (November 5, 1918 – July 31, 1963) (stage name June Nilson).[6][7] Nicholson's mother was of Irish, English, and Pennsylvania Dutch (German) descent. She married Italian American showman Donald Furcillo (stage name Donald Rose) in 1936, not knowing that he was already married.[8]:8[9] Biographer Patrick McGilligan stated in his book Jack's Life that Latvian-born Eddie King (originally Edgar A. Kirschfeld),[10] June's manager, may have been Nicholson's biological father, rather than Furcillo. Other sources suggest June Nicholson was unsure of who the father was.[6] As June was only 18 years old, unmarried and uncertain of the father's identity when Nicholson was born, her parents[note 1] agreed to raise Nicholson as their own child without revealing his true parentage, and June would act as his sister.[11] In 1974, Time magazine researchers learned, and informed Nicholson, that his "sister," June, was actually his mother, and his other "sister," Lorraine, was really his aunt.[12] By this time, both his previously assumed mother and grandmother had died (in 1963 and 1970, respectively). On finding out, Nicholson said it was "a pretty dramatic event, but it wasn't what I'd call traumatizing...I was pretty well psychologically formed."[11]

>smoking cigarettes
>enjoyment of 70s movies (Jack Nicholson)
>possibly a soft spot for Stephen King and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
>experimental with grammar rules
>inclination for humor
I'm linking all of these personality aspects together into an individual. I'll be looking for this combination of traits in any future writers in case you happen to make it big like you've always dreamed, OP.

I make up words in my stories, if I feel there isn't a word I can replace it with. For example, a passage from one of my chapters:
>I saw no soldiers; no sewage wrawn streets or bustling market crowds; I sat not atop a horse galloping amongst aristocracy loud.

There is nothing wrong with lexical variation, and syntactic variation is fine too, as long as there's a precedent for the variation among native English speakers. However, I could see an argument though for discouraging spelling variation, seeing as spelling conventions are generally non-phonological. In other words, it doesn't make sense to enforce the particular grammatical nuances of one dialect over another, but it is reasonable to enforce spelling conventions.
>>8357725
Prescriptivism is for 110-120 iq turboplebs to be honest.
>>8360208
really makes you think...
>>8360235
Not really.
Language has always been the Hegelian product of the conservatives and 'innovators'.
We as conservatives play just as vital and welcome a part as anyone.
>>8358429
Sounds like dyslexia, not innovation.
>>8360235
Don't care about the linguistics argument but "110-120 IQ turbopleb" is such a great concept. Smart enough to become halfway educated, not smart enough to realize they've only gone halfway. 90-110 IQ realize that many people are smarter than them, 120+ are smart enough to recognize genius and know that they aren't it, but the 115 turbopleb thinks he's hot shit because he reads DFW sometimes.
>>8360235
This.
>>8360391
No it hasn't. What do you think language is? What do you think makes something correct or incorrect in a language? Have you any understanding of historical linguistics?
I've nothing to proof
>>8360498
I would have a special, non-IQ-cut kekshare for those people who epiphanise in categories if only I hadn't pretentions at self-acknowledgeable intelligence.

>>8361995
I'm very experienced, you tit. That's why I said it.
You think languages are free to innovate whenever they like (out degenerate)? Of course not. There is always a camp of conservatives and a camp of reformers; the product of their wrangling is that the language evolves to. Hence the Hegelian dialectic.
