Arabic, because it's extremely interesting and I find it very rewarding, I'm using several sources on the internet as well as books

>Arabic
Someone contact the NSA.

In all seriousness though, I tried to learn Arabic several years ago. I really enjoyed it but didn't stick with it so now I know pretty much nothing.

I'm currently learning French for reading/travel purposes. I'm using a combination of a grammar textbook with practice exercises and Duolingo to help with vocab and pronunciation. I'll be going to France for a week or two in a year so I'm hoping to be at least conversational by then.

I have these grand plans of eventually knowing English, French, Spanish, Italian, and either Russian or German but I know I'll never follow through. My realistic goal is to reach fluency in French and Spanish. I have a good enough Spanish base that with a little work, I think I could come up to a moderate level pretty quickly.

Currently learning Fante, and Italian.

Fante, one of the many languages found in Ghana, is my wife's 1st language.
I'm also learning Italian because it is part of my heritage.

In the future I would like to learn more French, and perhaps German. I studied German for four years in High School. I feel like not keeping up with it would be a waste, but admittedly I'm not a big fan of the language.
>>
>>8347832

Native English. I know Norwegian from a past relationship.

Tempted to learn both German and Japanese. Will probably err in favour of the latter as I'm thinking Nippon will be the safest bet for when the shit hits the fan in Europe.
>>
>>8347981
If you're rich enough you could get a private tutor, but apart from that the method you mentioned is the best. A great way to learn a language faster is to expose yourself to the language as much as possible by simply moving to the country where the language is spoken or by consuming media in that language. Practice makes perfect. Viel Glück.

I'm trying to self teach German and Russian, and might start on Korean or Czech later.
My methods are almost useless, mostly because my methods only consist of duolingo and trying to read news articles in that language.

As for why...just because. I like (old) German and Russian lit/music/philosophy and I like the way they sound. There's a large community of Koreans where I live, so that could be practical, and Czech because I want to visit and perhaps live there for a while.

I'm learning Japanese currently.
I like lots of Japanese film, art, music. Interested in the culture, folklore, history, shame and seppuku, all that. Yes, I've also watched my share of anime, read my share of manga. The only Japanese books I've read are Murakami and Everyone Poops, however. But of course the writing and literature is a big incentive for me to learn. I'm also very curious about some visual novels I've heard about. I never read/play VNs, but I've heard some pretty absurd praise for a few untranslated ones regarding their writing, and well, I'd like to find out myself if it's truly that good.
I've realized that there is so much which isn't very translatable. Like how in Japanese there are the strict social hierarchical rules built into the language. You can't speak to someone without putting yourself below them or putting them below you. There's that and a myriad of other things which simply express stuff way differently from what I'm used to. This is of great interest to me regarding any language, as it's almost like a totally different way of thinking.
I would love to learn Russian as well, eventually. Besides all the art and culture, I just love the sound of Russian. Probably my favorite sounding language.

>>8348734
>Russian Is easier than I thought

I did Duolingo and Memrise a while back and didn't touch the language for a few months. That's what I mean by "beginner vocab and grammar". But you guys are right, I pussied out for no good reason and will go at it again.

>I mean, if you have an interest in the inner working of language, learning one that's made up to be a "universal language" might yield some wisdom.

Yeah, but they could just study actual linguistics, or a language that is / was actually used universally, instead of learning a boring synthetic slavic-romance mash-up.

You don't need to understand 100% of the book in French; just go for the gist and if you get lost, catch yourself up with sparknotes and the like.

Aim for a grammar point or two every day. Also note that the main character speaks plainly about things he doesn't care about (I.e. most of the plot of the first half), and detailedly for things he does (old people flesh, heat, the sun) so in many cases getting lost is simply the narrator talking about something mundane you can probably skim over without memorizing all of the words.

>>
>>8353207
You /can/ use LLPSI on its own, but it's better to use it in conjunction with "Latine Disco," which is a student's manual that can help you w/ grammar points the main book won't help you with.

Here is the link to book 1 of LLPSI: https://www.amazon.com/Lingua-Latina-Illustrata-Pars-Familia/dp/1585104205
Latine Disco: https://www.amazon.com/Lingua-Latina-Illustrata-Latine-Students/dp/1585100501/ref=pd_sim_14_2?ie=UTF8&dpID=41jaQ0zJ3bL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR110%2C160_&psc=1&refRID=AS5RV8JK6FKT4HAAE1CC

The important thing to remember with Latin is that it is a language—you want to learn it not to make shitty translations of Latin texts but to read the Latin for itself. To this end, you will learn best and most quickly by reading, writing, speaking and listening to Latin. LLPSI will cover reading at first, but do your best to find ways to exercise the others as well.

>>
>>8356079
It is not rare to learn languages with no practical purpose. People only would learn only their native language and English if that was the whole appeal of language learning. I'm betting most people saying they'll learn Japanese here aren't going in business trips to Japan anytime soon.

In your opinion. Also, why?

In the second part of your post you keep refering to your race and your women. What have you done to be so proud of the white race? You said it yourself, you are a bitter virgin, how come most racists and islamophobes seem to be much like you while strong independent people with social skills, wifes/husbands, friends and family are the more open minded non racist people? You always claim that the white race is so amazing and we need to preserve it, why? So we can breed more assholes like you? Perhaps if you stop thinking of everything as yours because of who you were born as, you would develop some kind of reasoning and work for things, obtaining a girl/boyfriend perhaps. Everything isn't as black and white.

No, islam will not take over the world. People will be enlightened and just like christianity is withering out in the west, islam will also. The reason many arabs are so religious is because of the conditions of where they come from where you do need to trust in something greater to make it out of bed everyday. If you actually socialised with first generation arabic immigrants you would see that they are either not religous at all or far less religious than their parents. This will continue, every generation becoming less and less religious.

I got so many lefti friends like you who get rock hard thinking about Alli fucking their girlfriend. They know that I'm not a lefti but little do they know how much the death of our kind really troubles me.

Islam is a brutish religion opposing everything we value in the western world. Wanting your kind to merely preserve itself is not evil in any shape or form. I'm not even blond/blue eyed, yet it makes me really sad that this genetic trait is dying so quickly.
>>
>>8356672
>it makes me really sad that this genetic trait is dying so quickly.

It's dying because it's a recessive trait you mongoloid. It was destined to be selected out in the end by a process of simple dilution over time. And I'm saying that as someone who IS blond and blue-eyed.

I think blond people know this, is rare to see two full-on "aryan" people together nowadays. It sends off a incest vibe which I think has a instinctive background.
>>
Currently learning English but not satisfied as yet. Need to read more. Pronouncing names of people or other things that you know nothing about is very difficult, which makes English much worse a language than it could have been.

>>

good god you are so far up your own ass it's quite amusing. Btw, I had Genetics in University, I'm sure I know more than you about that.

Just because it doens't follow a Mendelian rule it doesn't mean that the sum of the multiple loci are recessive. As I said, you are positively a mongoloid, it's too late for you buds
>>
>>8356703
>It sends off a incest vibe
That is utterly retarded. The truth is that blond/blue eyed might be valued as beautiful but it is still seen as "Nazi". Having a healthy blond/blue eyed family full of normal kids is everything the left hates. Just look at yourself, you are so brainwashed you think of white children as incest.
Blond/blue eyed woman also know that they are on the absolute top of the food chain, meaning they can have everyone and so they go for something fun, where they can be dominant instead of starting a relationship where they are merely equal and forced to sacrifice their body for children for which they would have to care.

>recessive trait
So what? It managed to stay strong for thousands of years and now that it dies within a few generations so it's not bad at all? Imagine we were talking about animals, you would certainly agree that the death of a species (or in the case of humans "ethnicity") is bad.

It's not even about blue/blond, this is merely the purest form from which you can derive others. It's about a heavily declining birthrate plus a policy of fighting this decline by immigration from a hostile culture.
plus I'm pissed that this hot girl is learning Arabic, and my logic being that you would only learn the language of a culture you adore

Nope, I just think that banging a girl who looks like my sister feels somewhat weird.

>Blond/blue eyed woman also know that they are on the absolute top of the food chain

Ofc, because literally every single male on the earth either knows them to be the objectively best woman to fugg, or are brainwashed by "The Left" (TM) to like other colours. Subjective taste of course plays no role in that matter whatsoever. Cmon man I know for a fact you can't say that to me irl with a straight face, troll harder next time pls shitposting is a dying artform

>Imagine we were talking about animals, you would certainly agree that the death of a species

I can't say it's bad if it's just nature playing itself out, which to me is what will ultimately happen to those O So Beautiful traits. Of course, if I believed in an overarching conspiracy of the left to endoctrinate the white male, I would view that as bad, but I do not believe anyone even infinitesimally level-headed would believe in the guilt-trips of the far-left or the schizoid-paranoias of the alt-right.

>>8356872

I know it's an oversimplification, but it's still viewed as a mostly recessive trait. From wiki because fuck that I won't leaf through my Genectics book in my vacation time:

>"One phenotype (brown/blonde) has a dominant brown allele and a recessive blond allele. A person with a brown allele will have brown hair; a person with no brown alleles will be blond. This explains why two brown-haired parents can produce a blond-haired child. However, this can only be possible if both parent are heterozygous in hair color- meaning that both of them have one dominant brown hair allele and one recessive allele for blond hair, but as dominant traits mask recessive ones the parents both have brown hair. In a punnet square it is possible to determine the possibility of a certain trait in an offspring.

>The other gene pair is a non-red/red pair, where the non-red allele (which suppresses production of pheomelanin) is dominant and the allele for red hair is recessive. A person with two copies of the red-haired allele will have red hair.

>The two-gene model does not account for all possible shades of brown, blond, or red (for example, platinum blond versus dark blond/light brown), nor does it explain why hair color sometimes darkens as a person ages. Several gene pairs control the light versus dark hair color in a cumulative effect"

So yeah, not totally true since there's a lot of factors involved that we still can't account for, but the "model" is still a recessive one.

i'm studying latin at university - i come from a monolingual english background so i feel it's been invaluable in the sense that it has introduced me to an entirely different grammatical system and culture. Beyond this it's also an excellent way of improving your own english (eg loanwords, oratorical skills from studying latin lit) and gives a good base for the romance languages.

it's always excellent to read classics in the original too
>>
>>8357083
> has introduced me to an entirely different grammatical system
Just a protip: Latin and English do not have entirely different grammatical systems; they relatively similar when considering non-IE languages.

Quae studes in scholae: tantum linguam aut litteras/scripta? Semper optavi ut in scholam redeam Latinamque studeam, verum contemno litteras; tantum linguam studere velim.

Qui auctores primi classici legis?

good point about IE languages - guess that's just my eurocentrism.

going into 4th yr edinburgh university - we studied language as a compulsory course (inc. stemmatic theory, scansion, metre) - then we had various options of latin authors. So at uni i've done Catullus, Virgil, Ovid, Petronius and Lucretius (also Prudentius but that's not classical latin).

Doing my dissertation on Juvenal next year, along side courses on Roman satire.

as you can see i've not done prose composition in a while

recessive doesn't mean dying out. it means you can carry it for generations without it presenting and then suddenly atavism. there's a wikipedia page dedicated to the blonde gene hoax here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearing_blonde_gene It relies on a misunderstanding of recessive genes which you university lied to and your middle school education wasn't thorough enough to spot. try /sci/ they'll be really trolled

No language has "primitive as fuck" grammar, every living language (aside from hebrew maybe) has been evolving for thousands upon thousands of years. The only languages that can be said to have primitive as fuck grammar are conlangs like Toki Pona, where simplicity is the goal.
>>
>>8357177

>The extinction claim is based on a misinterpretation of recessiveness in genetics. In reality, unless blond genes are positively selected against, blondeness will not disappear

That's the issue with the misunderstanding, that unless there is an external pressure there will be no selection. I wasn't "lied to" at Uni, that was me failing to see a fallacy right in front of me.

However, one could make the argument that the "pressure" is globalization and the natural mingling of cultures and ethnicities. I still think those traits will become increasingly rare as time passes because it will become diluted through the contact with other people, it's just not gonna happen by 2030 like the article said lol.

To me, it's about probability: they are more probable to disappear, and over a huge amount of time they probably will. With that argument, I avoid the fallacy and still keep my incredibly important dignity intact by not bulging one inch in my argument over the internet

Ablative absolute doesn't work in this case, since you are saying Give. They must become accusative. Ablative absolute is for a seperate idea connected as a dependent clause e.g. "With the romans having been killed, we rescued Carthage."

Learning Spanish right now, I'm almost fluent. Being in a state with a lot of latinas helps.

Planning on learning French afterwards, then maybe Portuguese or Arabic. I know all this sounds difficult, but I feel I need to know such languages if I want to have adventure in life. I also have a lot of Arab friends and the official Baathist instagram account considers me to be an honorary Arab, so Arabic might be a must. Knowing French and standard Arabic (plus levant Arabic) will basically allow me to get by in most Arab countries.

I might fuck around with Italian too. I hear it's exactly like Spanish. Dutch is also apparently easy for native English speakers to learn.

wrong. this is not how the accusative + infinitive construction works

I could go on, but suffice it to say that your verbs are not correctly positioned, your grasp on the uses of the ablative case seems shaky, and whatever your "Latin" may mean to you, it certainly would have been incomprehensible to Cicero.

French

6 years ago, when I was 14, I vacationed in Germany for 2 weeks with my parents, and was at the time considerably attractive for my age. My parents decided to go out one night and left me in the hotel, so I decided to go swimming in the hotel. At the hotel's swimming pool, a cute French girl initiated conversation with me and we traded names, secrets, details about each other's lives, but unfortunately not room numbers. We had planned to both feign sickness the upcoming day so we could meet each other again, in the lobby of the hotel, at 10 am. I was so ecstatic that night in my hotel room (my younger brother and I shared a hotel room, my parents were horny and needed space) that I was on my laptop firstly telling my friend about the transpirations that had occurred earlier and how I was gonna lose my virginity. We played Civ 3 all night, I went to sleep at 5 am or something. The next morning, I just remembered that I was supposed to be feigning sickness, and I actually felt kinda sick from sleep deprivation, and forgot entirely about the French girl's request to meet me at 10 am in the hotel lobby. I later figured that since we met in the swimming pool, she might be there again, so I pretty much swam every second night at the hotel. I met her on my second last night there and she told me she was in love with me and found my personality captivating like no other, or something along those lines. I hadn't the idea of long distance relationships back then and neither did she. I still remember her name, and she's working as a junior secretary at some law firm in Strasbourg now according to her Facebook. I'm getting more fit and I have the potential to regain my attractiveness that I once had due to my height and symmetrical facial structures and masculine facial features, but I'd like to be able to speak with her in French.

If someone wants to learn an easy language that will help them learn other languages (you'll understand grammar rules and things of that nature better) I would recommend ASL.

If you know English then learning all of the words is already done, Plus you get all of the whacky and complex grammar rules. Additionally, if you know ASL, then communicating with people who know a different form of sign language is usually pretty easy after a few minutes.

(on top of that you have a career if you want to go that route)
