What is the literary lifestyle?
>>8335474
A lifestyle that is simply infeasible unless you're content with being discontent, extremely acclaimed in academic circles, or if you're extremely wealthy

Write for a living with small side jobs to supplement your income, typically in places where literary types spend time like coffee shops, bookstores, libraries, universities, or something that is mindless such as ditch digging, trades, etc, so that your mind is still untaxed afterwards. But primarily from writing.
Small house or apartment with most of the walls taken up by bookshelves, but only filled with books you've read or written.
Spend all your free time writing or reading. Live modestly.

Shouldn't the pic be making fun of e-readers? They were a stupid trend and I'm glad people are realizing physical books are much more satisfying
Is it actually possible to live this way?
Reading books.

A meme
being a virgin loner alcoholic strung out on heroin whilst holding down a menial desk job and modest apartment

Read _Hunger_, and _Ask the Dust_.

Pretty much this. I'm going to the mines to work for the next 2 years at least. Going to start as a grunt and eventually get my heavy equipment operator licence so I can make up to 100k per year. 10-12hour days for a month, then 2 weeks off. rinse and repeat. My goal is to read and write during my time off, both at work and when I'm away. Once my student debt is paid I'm buying a house and having children.
This opportunity has made me realize just how deceptive the whole "uneducated white males vote for trump" thing is. So many end up going into the trades or similar work not because they are stupid, but because there is greater financial opportunity elsewhere. Sorry to inject a political discussion.
A miserable life of poverty and sadness before you die either from drugs/alcohol or suicide. Then, you become famous after you die.
Whatever it is, I'm living it.
>be 36 years old
>wake up anywhere from 11am to 6pm most days
>spent morning edging and finally blowing a load to hardcore pornography
>shower for 30 minutes
>eat what mom cooked for me to heat up or just eat several bags of Doritos until she arrives home from work
>defecate and focus on the pleasure of the poop leaving my ass
>lie on the bathroom floor daydreaming
>take a nap
>shitpost on several boards and then leave the tabs open
>hear mommy's car outside
>hide behind the door and scare her when she walks in with the groceries
>immediately tear open the grocery bags and take the stuff that's for me
>run upstairs with it in my arms and sit in my room
>jerk off again
>eat a ton of candy and drink low-price energy drinks
>see what reaction my posts had
>force mommy to watch a movie with me
>lie with my head on her lap
>she cooks me dinner during a 30 minute break halfway through the movie
>wake her up repeatedly when she inevitably begins falling asleep
>demand she watch the entire movie and recall the plot to me immediately afterwards
>go to my room and spend the night watching Hitler speeches and "Nazis in colour" videos on youtube while crying
>go to sleep satisfied I am the victim of a degenerate society

Nietzsche talked me out of seeking posthumous fame.
Life is too short to accept your work going unappreciated, and your goals going unrealized, whilst alive.
Seeking solely posthumous fame is essentially an admission of vanity.

do you ever write or read books?
I go to the Louvre Pyramid, watch the Chinese in bright red dresses getting married, and read Hunger by Knut Hamsun.
Work at the call center when money becomes really too tight.
I have noone in Paris, but always dreamed of moving there. Didn't imagine such poverty, but hey.
Write a bit, sometimes not unsuccessfuly.
Freaked out last time some readers wanted to meet me.
