It really is a masterful translation. The original illustrations are great too.
Sadly Solaris has had a rougher time translation-wise. The only one available in print is a double translation via French and is bizarrely vague and undetailed. A far superior, direct translation (by Bill Johnston) was released a few years ago, but digital and audio only due to some unfortunate copyright issues. The older one still gets the point across and is still worthwhile if print is the only option. It's pretty essential SF either way.
