The implication of this is almost esoteric. You cannit read Diogenes although you must. So you will never reach perfection.

when my mates was still studying for his PhD in Philosophy he got invited by Professor to a restaurant to dine with his friends. When he got there he ordered a large steak dinner, everyone seemed uncomfortable and awkward after the order. There was a spare seat, turns out Singer was late only got there by the time the meals were served. Safe to say my mate wasn't invited to those restaurants again.
