Do you keep a commonplace book? What sort of stuff do you put into it? Do you use it often? How do you organize it?
General discussion and shitposting about commonplace books and journals welcome.

Is this some sort of british cobbleknockle wollybog term

It's a kind of journal, but less about laying out what you did / how you feel day to day and more for writing down things of interest to you. Inspiration, quotes, musings, etc.
It used to be pretty normal to keep one but it's fallen out of favor in modern times. Still, I figured if anybody would keep them it'd be people from /lit/.

I hadn't heard of this either, but it seems like a cool idea. I might start one.
Yeah, it's really handy. Brains are better at coming up with ideas than they are at remembering them. Even with the book I feel I miss out on a lot of worthwhile concepts from time to time.
No one can predict inspiration
I have a decent memory so I just put the stuff in my journal which I write in before I sleep. If it's something really important I put it in a note on my phone and then transfer it to the journal later.
When I'm doing something stresful, writing about it helps me. So yeah.
I saw a thread on commonplace books on /lit/ back in 2011 and started one, unfortunately it's back in the States and I'm I'm Europe now.
But this thread made me think of starting a euro editon CPB
