i'll go with the canonization, but i also like the triple fool, the holy sonnets (death be not proud, this is my play's last scene, i am a little world made cunningly, at the round earth's imagined corners blow, batter my heart, etc.), valediction forbidden mourning, and a bazilion others

he's known as the father of the metaphysical poets. if you google "metaphysical poetry" his face pops up. I'm pretty sure if you go to the metaphysical wiki page it'll be a painting of him. He's plenty widely read, he's the most widely read metaphysical poet.
If you mean on /lit/, it's redundant. No poet is widely read on /lit/.
