What do writers even do all day? Judging by their outputs, not much. Even the "hard working" ones say they work about 15 - 25 hours per week.
If you buy books are you just funding some rich Chad's or Stacey's NEET fuckfest lifestyle?
As long as the book money isn't funding shit like terrorism or Hillary clinton, I don't give a fuck where it's going.
Buying books isn't a charity you autist

I know a published writer of some acclaim. Made famous when he was 25 and has since written two novels that didn't live up to the same standard. He practically lives on grants from the government. He technically works for a university but only teaches on class every semester. I'm pretty jealous of his love life, he lives near campus and always has qts over. He's currently writing a novel about a man who finds a bowling ball in his garden.

But then you're funding Olivia and Alfie who got that job at Random House because they went to the same public school as the manager.

lol are you talking about Ben Lerner? He's such a fucking awful writer
I assume writers spend most of their time reading or meditating, or consuming other artforms.
You don't need to buy books to read them; I download or steal them, or get them for 25 cents at the Thrift Store.
