Did Jeffrey remind anyone else of Heinrich in White Noise?

I enjoyed it. DeLillo is short of preminiscent so I see the types of organization in the book becoming more prevalent or at least getting more exposure. Nano technology is already a thing as well as cryogenic cults. Aside from the science fiction aspects, I really liked the themes of identity corresponding to the world around us, as pertaining to modern society.

There are some really nice passages when it comes to Jeffrey's childhood interactions with his father and the Martineu part was beautiful, if a little gimmicky. Delillo's agent has god tier pr skills, it's been getting praise and reviews from tons of major outlets.

I like it. Not his best, but definitely interesting and enjoyable. Very modern without being overly optimistic. There's a bit of lolsopomo experimentation but most of it is pretty restrained. It's very psychological and pretty slow-paced. At its best, it's serenely beautiful and melancholy.

You have to live in your time. Any attempts opposed are immediately evident as even more a slave to the present.
